This is my recreation of The Blair Witch Project trailer, I used the fan made trailer due to copyright. I edited the footage using Video Pad Editor (See below).
Oculus Website I was inspired by this website because when you go to the page it shows you clips of the movie and then the main page is an interactive mirror that you can look around, there are links at the top of the page to take you to the poster, trailer, cast profiles, tumblr and page to download the app. It has a constant eerie sound track in the background. Reviews of the film in the top right corner and social media shortcuts in the bottom left. This is good because it allows them to spread the word of the film to their friends.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Website I like this website because of the simplistic layout with the trailer playing in the background and the navigation bar on the left side, this makes it easy for the viewer to find what they are looking for on the website. You can select your country at the bottom of the page to see the release date where you are and it has social media links in the top right corner allowing the viewer to share with their friends.
Hurcules I chose this website not because of the genre but because of the style. It has a dark theme with the main character in the center of the page. At the top of the page there is a navigation bar which is under the main actors name and production company. There is a button to watch the trailer and a photo gallery which you can look at other images from the film.
The Blair Witch Project - The first teaser trailer created a complete mystery with a good effect by having the camera on in the dark with the crying voice over and apologizing for something that had happened and then the light comes on and she is crying. This leaves the audience wanting to know what happened. The second teaser trailer gave more insight into the story line and what has happened with the news story showing the camera being found and the tape with 'The Blair witch' on them and broken, at the end one of the clips plays to show them running screaming through the woods. This again leaves the audience wanting to know what has happened to them.
I chose paranormal activity due to the use of camera work and choice of marketing techniques. It uses the reactions of a real audience that were filmed. The trailer and film are shot in a hand held and home video scenario so that the audience feels more involved in the film. The trailer shows some of the different paranormal occurrences that they catch on camera and the reaction of the audience of some others, this shows the audience that it is a scary horror film as some of them are not, It also makes them feel more vulnerable as it makes it seem like it could happen in their own home and that adds to the fear.
I like the Insidious 2 trailer because it starts off slowly as if everything is normal and then things start to happen and it becomes emotionally twisting as the family fight to save themselves from the haunting. The use of lighting throughout the trailer is good as it uses both light and dark scenes so you cant see everything that is going on and then expands on that in the film.
